Kathi,
We are with you every step of the way tomorrow and all the future tomorrows. Not that it is of much help, 'cause you're the one taking the steps, but we are right there to walk this route with you.
I am a proctor in the 5th grade tomorrow while they are taking their standardized tests. My body will be sitting in that classroom, but my mind will be traveling with you and visualizing what you are experiencing as I watch the clock move.
"I will weep when you are weeping,
When you laugh, I'll laugh with you,
I will share your joy and sorrow
'til we've seen this journey thru."
We have LOTS OF LAUGHS left and loads of joy to share.
We will see you through this and you can take that to the bank!

From Kathi late last night:
We are home after a long day. We left at 6:30 AM and saw the Dr. about 9:00. I loved the him just as my friend said I would. He was wonderful and gentle. HE feels that it is cancer. There is a 12 cm mass which is moveable/this is good. There are other smaller nodules as well. If all the other tests come back as predicted, they will proceed with a complete hysterectomy on Tuesday. If the bowel is involved, they will have to do more extensive surgery. I will be in the hospital for about 3 days if all goes as he hopes. Chemo will start about 4 weeks later. There will be the conventional port and also another one directly into the stomach. This is a procedure that they have had a lot of success with and is only available on a trial basis at selected large hospitals. The chemo will not be fun but he gave me such hope and that is what I need right now. I am going with his wonderful, positive attitude.
I took my prayer square with me. Since I had a EKG, chest x-ray, CAT scan and blood workup, I had lots of time for prayer. Dave and Liz came with Jerry and I and took copious notes. Those of you who know that I can cry easily will be happy to know that I was strong as were Jerry and the kids. The only time I broke down was when I told him that he was the answer to prayer----the prayers that you and your friends have been praying. How can I ever thank you? Please keep praying that they will be able to do the surgery on Tuesday and rest knowing that I am more hopeful than I have been in the past week.
