Remembering, daily.
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow."
Melody Beattie
Spring is finally, finally here. Even though it snowed again at Tahoe last week. Good things are happening. Trees are blossoming. Bulbs are blooming. The sun is shining. Pretty incredible world we live in.
Recently a friend shared her "I wake up expecting things" stationery. It was reminescent of Sarah Ban Breathnach's Simple Abundance. With a slight twist: anticipation. Waking up to a world of seemingly simple but surprisingly meaningful, memorable experiences.
I'm smiling just thinking about that.
Remember my dear friend Kathi? Know that she's doing beyond incredibly well. Whew/wow.
Kathi understands/embraces this concept better than most:
"I love this. It is such an easy thing--just to be grateful for what you have--the very simplest of things bring happiness. Having been on the receiving end of so many kindnesses this year, I know what "abundance" feels like. Kind words, a phone call, time with those you love--so basic and so powerful. Love to you and your family---I know you are loving each moment of your time together and capturing it in pictures so the memories can be replayed over and over! Joy, Joy!"
