Laughter as a Form of Exercise

"If you typically run or bike alone, perhaps consider finding a partner. Your endorphin response might rise and, at least theoretically, render that unpleasant final hill a bit less daunting."

Halloween Tours That Give You the Creeps

Was I the only one who adored Halloween before the kids became teenagers? I dreamed about escaping with them just for that one day. It never happened. And, thankfully, we all survived. And with few exceptions and enough pizza, we were able to talk teens into creating Scary Scenarios at our house for little trick-or-treaters.

For those who live near NYC, here are options I wish had existed in the Bay Area.

Here are the East Coast Opportunities.  With a little research, I bet we could uncover West Coast options.

Pretty remarkable advances in arm chair travel!

We may need to take this trip again.  Armchair or The Real Deal?  Still an issue we're debating.  Much longer story.  Spectacular trip IF YOU GO WITH A TOP-NOTCH TOUR GROUP.  If considering, sign up early.  We were late in registering/it was not good BUT definitely memorable for all the Great Stories that survived.

Finally, the Truth About Memory

"Ever walk into a room with some purpose in mind, only  to completely forget what that purpose was?  Turns out, doors themselves are to blame for these strange memory lapses.

Psychologists at the University of Notre Dame have discovered that passing through a doorway triggers what's known as an event boundary in the mind, separating one set of thoughts and memories from the next. Your brain files away the thoughts you had in the previous room and prepares a blank slate for the new locale."

It's not our memory, it's the door!

That's a relief.

Thanks so much, Diane!
